Samsung OMNIA HD i8910 Review

We need to point out that plastic surface on its back side simply adores fingerprints. Our other negative comment here is the back cover opens way too easily, there is no apparent lock mechanism and we felt as if it was about to come off anytime. It´s possible that the issue affects only the unit we tested. What else is there onto the back panel? One of the most interesting and important features of the i8910 HD – the world´s first 8-megapixel camera that supports HD video capture (720p equal to 1280x720 pixels).

The folk at PhoneArena has published a huge review of the Samsung i8910 OMNIA HD. So what are you waiting for, head over to phonearena to view the review

Solar-powered G-Shock Rose Gold Series watches

October 23, 2008 Casio has added to its well-known G-Shock collection with the introduction of its premium Rose Gold series. The new line of watches combine shock-resistance characteristics with self-adjusting atomic timekeeping technology and a mini solar panel for extended battery life.

The MTG1000BR-1A, GIEZ, GW700BRJ-1A, and GW1800BRJ-1A models all feature rose gold accents matched with matte black IP (ion plating) for a sporty yet sophisticated look. A tiny solar panel, combined with a large-capacity rechargeable battery, enables a variety of energy-hungry functions to operate smoothly and greatly reduces the need for battery changes. Self-adjusting, multi-band atomic timekeeping technology receives calibration signals automatically from up to five transmitters around the world (US, Germany, UK and two in Japan) and updates settings accordingly for pinpoint accuracy, even adjusting for leap year and daylight saving time.

Spice S-940 Mobile Phone

It is fashionable with a touch of class with the shiny and lined metal finish. The large 2.4-inch TFT LCD looks very attractive and clear with 65K colors and a resolution of 240x320 pixels. The five way nav-pad’s directional buttons are a little too slim to access for someone with large fingers. It took a while getting used to. The center select button doesn’t depress too well and seemed to be a bit off center and hence made an annoying ‘clik’ every time it was pressed. Even the process of pressing it was uncomfortable. The alphanumeric keypad is large and well spaced out.A microSD card slot is located on one side of the handset and a mini USB, universal port on the other. The 2 megapixel camera is located at the rear with a single LED for the flash.

Features and Performance
Interface

Spice has gone with a Java-based OS exactly like you’d find in a Chinese mobile handset. It’s quick, colorful and easy to navigate - however, a few of the features are a bit odd. For instance, when I changed the Time/Date settings to a 12 hour clock and I had to either Schedule an SMS to go out or set an Alarm, I was required to enter the time in 24 hour format. From a Melody Composer to an Image Editor with plenty of settings, there are quite a few media options available with the S-940. The music player has a flashy interface with EQ presets for audio adjustments. The audio quality is not too bad but the decibel level is just too low. The earphones attached to the hands free kit were not too comfortable for me personally but I’m sure it won’t be too much of an issue for most. But with the volume being so low, I can’t say it was a good overall audio experience, especially when it came to drowning out the daily commute's shrieks and banter.

The MDR-XB700, MDR-XB500, MDR-XB300 are wide headband headphones, while the MDR-XB40EX and MDR-XB20EX are in-ear headphones.
